Where your data lives, what is hidden from sharing, what has left this browser, and how to remove it.

Stored on this device

Everything Mitigate AI knows about you is kept in this browser’s built-in database (IndexedDB), on this device, for this site only. It isn’t synced to your other devices or browsers, and it isn’t uploaded — there is no Mitigate AI server that stores your conversations.

Hidden from exports

Rules you set. They apply to every new export and Passport file, on top of approval and sensitivity. Files you already saved don’t change: a connected app keeps reading its current Passport file until you save a new one from Connections.

Hiding is not erasing

Hide (suppress)

Kept, but never shared

The item stays on this device and can be shown again at any time.
A small rule (a fingerprint, conversation id or topic word) remembers your choice, so the same thing doesn’t come back when you import a newer export.
Used by: rejecting a memory, excluding a conversation or topic, keeping a memory private.

Erase (delete)

Gone from this device

Removes the item and everything derived from it here: quotes, search entries and links between memories.
Leaves no rule behind, so importing the same file again can bring it back as a new suggestion.
Can’t reach copies elsewhere: files you exported, text you pasted into other AI tools, or what an app already read.

Sensitive memories

Approved memories about health, money, contact details, family and similar topics. They’re left out of exports unless you include them, and you can keep any of them private for good.

Keeping it safe

Browser storage is convenient but not a backup. Keep your original export files: re-importing them never creates duplicates.

AI analysis

Whether an outside AI provider may ever be asked to read your conversations.

Allow optional AI analysis by an outside provider

Off by default. Without it, memory suggestions are found on this device with fixed rules and nothing is sent to an AI company. When it’s on, Review offers AI analysis (sent to Anthropic with your own API key); every run first shows what would be sent, the purpose and the estimated cost, and starts only when you confirm.

What leaves this device

Nothing, unless you export or copy it. Your files are read inside this tab and never sent anywhere.
The site loads no third-party scripts, trackers or fonts; its security policy blocks them.
Only memories you approve go into exports for other AI tools, Passport files and connected apps. A full backup file also holds suggestions and rejected items so it can restore Mitigate AI; protect it with a password. Passwords, keys and ID numbers detected in your data are left out of every file.
Excluding a conversation keeps it in your archive but stops it from being used — it’s a choice you can undo. Deleting removes it and everything derived from it.

Removes every conversation, message, memory, evidence quote, exclusion rule, import report, the search index, cached files and your preferences from this browser. It can’t be undone.

It can’t reach copies outside this browser: files you exported, context you pasted into other AI tools, or anything stored by ChatGPT, Claude or Google.
